Review from Airbnb Guest received August 2022:

We had a truly wonderful time staying in Robin and Jenny’s converted coach house in the heart of Ely.
It is a totally one-off property, having been lovingly converted to maintain many of the original quirky features of this historic building. It is a fantastic location right next to the cathedral, so couldn’t be more central for exploring the delightful city. Being able to park outside was an added convenience. We also used it as a base for exploring nearby Wicken Fen nature reserve, so it provided an ideal balance between nature/culture for us.

Our hosts made us so welcome and they were so genuinely friendly and hospitable. We can also highly recommend the city walking tours which run at the weekends, organised by the nearby tourist information office. Oh and the lovely bakery practically on our doorstep which provided our morning croissants and pastries was another highlight. We stayed for a week and by the end were reluctant to leave this charming place. We would gladly come back again! Nora.

Hello Jenny and Robin,

I must first apologize for not writing sooner but somehow the time has totally gotten away from me since arriving home three weeks ago. I just wanted to thank you both for helping to make our stay in Ely so delightful and comfortable. Your hospitality and graciousness was simply wonderful, especially sharing drinks in your home as well as the garden. As interesting and fun as it is to see the sights it is equally enjoyable to have a little time to meet and talk to people from the area.

The Coach Home is a wonderful self catering accommodation. I have stayed in many throughout England and other parts of Europe and this did not disappoint. The ambiance is perfect with the remnants of the old coach home, the charming garden, plenty of dishes and facilities for everything. And as much as anything the location is unbeatable, just a very short stroll to magnificent Ely Cathedral, the charming downtown and market, the riverside and Peacocks – all so easy. And I cannot fail to mention the wonderful meal we had at the Old Engine Home our last evening – a perfect ending.

So, again, thank you – perhaps sometime in the future I will get a chance to return,

Cheers,

Fran Klos
